This 163-metre-high dam is located 12 minutes away from the Statue of Unity. Spread over 37,000 hectares, the reservoir of the Sardar Sarovar Dam is 1.77 km wide on an average and 214 km long. This gravity dam has a spillway discharging capacity of 85,000 cubic metres per second or 3 million cubic feet per second and volume of 6.82 million cubic metres.
7. River Rafting
Those who like adventure sports can participate in river rafting in the Narmada – known to be the largest river in India. Conducted at Khalwani within Ekta Nagar, this white-water rafting experience will give you the chance to negotiate 6 rapids along the flow of the water from the Sardar Sarovar Dam. The route stretches over 4.5 km and passes by the Shoolpaneshwar Sanctuary and its deciduous forests along the banks.
It is important to listen to the instructions of the guide during the river rafting adventure and row as per the directions given at each time. All participants are taught how to use the paddle before they get on the raft. Safety jackets and helmets are provided. It is forbidden to jump off the raft as the route is strewn with boulders which can wound any swimmer fatally.

The Narmada River cruise can be experienced on one of two boats – a catamaran-style mild-steel vessel called UNITY 1 which has a capacity of 200 passengers and offers two decks, a food stall and a souvenir shop, and a mono hull boat called UNITY 2 which has a capacity of 25 passengers. Opt for the dinner cruise to watch the lighting all over Ekta Nagar during the 7-kilometre-journey from Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan to the Statue of Unity.

There are LED fountains, optical illusions, art installations and jungle-themed figurines that can be photographed.
This garden is only open after dark and can be accessed between 7 PM and 10 PM. This location is also ideal for looking at the lighting at the Sardar Sarovar Dam. To arrive here, it is possible to use the Statue of Unity buses which travel throughout Ekta Nagar. If you miss the bus or do not have a private vehicle, hiring an auto rickshaw is an option.
