6. Swaminarayan Temple

One of the most important religious sites of the Swaminarayan Sampraday, the famed Swaminarayan Temple was built by Ananandanand Swami. Swaminarayan Sampraday is an important Hindu sect which is believed to have been categorised as NarNarayan Dev Gadi and LaxmiNarayan Dev Gadi.
Swaminarayan Temple is the initial temple of the Swaminarayan sect and the nerve centre of the NarNarayan Dev Gadi that was built in the 19th century in Kalupur. A wonderful temple stands majestically with its beautiful domes, columns and arches.
An architectural splendour whose interiors are resplendent with striking Gujarati designs reflecting the Gujarati lifestyle and culture is worth a visit. This sacred shrine was constructed on the land given by the Britishers in 1822.
Visitors would appreciate the beautiful carvings all made with authentic Burma teak and the stunning sculptures. Main hall enshrines the idols of Narayana Dev in the centre with Dharamdev, Bhakti Mata and Harikrishna on to his left and Radhakrishna Dev on to his right.
Akshar bhavan of the temple has the idol of Ghanshyam Maharaj in the child form and also showcases the personal items used by Swaminarayan.
The Rang Mahal of the temple features the idol of Ghanshyam Maharaj. Admire the sculptures of Swaminarayan beautifully set in the wood carved temple made by using Burmese Teak.
Next to the temple is the Haveli which used to be the official residence of the Acharya of the Narayan Dev Gadi. Spiritual women leaders hold various ceremonies and religious preaching in its premises for women called the Samkhya Yogi women.

7. Hutheesing Jain Temple
