1. Padmanabhaswamy Temple

The palace got the name because of the shape of head carvings of the horses on the exterior walls. The palace was built in the nineteenth century by Swathi Thirunal. The palace with its traditional architecture has many royal exhibits. During this festival women gather along the road to the temple for nearly 2 km and cook sweet pongal to offer the goddess. Pongala is an offering usually made in Bhagavathi temples.
